A Belarusian blogger is threatening a Bulgarian company with negative publicity on her blog

This Sunday, a person claiming to be a Belarusian blogger, married to a non-EU diplomat, contacted Posolstvo.eu. She (or the person claiming to be her) stated that her “visa”, as a spouse of a diplomat in Bulgaria, will expire soon. What she wanted is to stay in Bulgaria (after her husband leaves?), even tough, as she said, she had no legal ground to remain.

After we explained her what her legal options are and the associated costs, she became extremely hostile.

We will now make sure that the Bulgarian authorities take actions against this person

We have helped thousands and thousands of non-EU foreigners to obtain Bulgarian visa, residence permit and citizenship. And we always advocate that the Bulgarian authorities should be making things easier rather than more complicated. We are well known for helping Russians and Belorussians in particular. This time however we will make sure that foreigners, who threaten Bulgarians are eventually prosecuted and sent back to their countries with an EU entry ban.

A great service to the Russian and Belarusian communities in Bulgaria

We will also make a great service to the Russians and Belorussians in Bulgaria. This is, because we are certain that the Russian speaking foreigners in Bulgaria do not want to be associated with such hostile “practices” against Bulgarians.

An eventual crime?

Whether this “threat” is a crime under the Bulgarian penal code will be for the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office to decide and then eventually for the Bulgarian Court. We have experience dealing with hostile foreigners, and our lawyers have so far acted extremely efficiently to put the bad actors where they belong.

Our forthcoming actions

This time however, as this Belarusian blogger (or whoever this person may be), we will do the extra mile.

At the very least, we will ensure that Belarusian harmful influence in Bulgaria is stopped. A long-term EU entry ban for this particular Belarusian blogger—who dares to threaten Bulgarians—will be the minimum we will be aiming for.

Here is what our lawyers are currently preparing:

  • A formal submission to the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office requesting evaluation of a possible criminal act;
  • A letter to the State Agency for National Security with full explanation of the incident along with a full report with all correspondence and logs. We will require from the Agency to assess whether such behaviour does violate national security and will recommend this person to be banned from entry to Bulgaria and the EU;
  • We will inform the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the incident in order for them to take eventual diplomatic actions with the embassy of the country of the husband (the diplomat?) of the Belarusian blogger;
  • We will also inform directly the foreign embassy, where the Belarusian blogger claimed that her husband works as a diplomat;
  • Last, but not least, we will contact all pro-European Bulgarian parties and organisations to request their support in combating the Russian and Belarusian propaganda in Bulgaria and the EU.

So that’s all folks for now. We will be soon publishing more details and the name of the Belarusian blogger, once the authorities engage in full.
