THE LAW

“Prolonged residence permit may be obtained by foreigners who hold a visa under Art.15, par.1 and wish to carry out non-profit activity after permission from the Ministry of Justice” – Art.24, par.1, p.16 of the Bulgarian Law for the foreigners.

    Im Australian. I own a Bulgarian company that has held land in Bulgaria for 14 years. I would like to apply for residency. Im currently in Thailand an unable to visit Australia till maybe next year due to the virus. What’s your suggestions for the BG residency. I will Visit Bulgaria next spring if the virus restrictions allow.

      Your best way forward is to register Bulgarian NGO and get visa D and residence permit. Having in mind the “speed” of processing of the Australian applications in Bulgaria, you should start already if you want to make it for next spring.

        We are not giving work permit visas. We assist individuals from around the world to obtain them from the Bulgarian embassies. If you believe that you have legal grounds to obtain it, we will be happy to assist you. Please be advised that work permits in Bulgaria are given for particular employer rather than as right to work in the country in general. Only certain categories, ie foreign spouses of Bulgarian citizens, are allowed to work in Bulgaria with any employer they decide to.
